A small visual indication that an application is minimized in CMD-Tab view

Submitted by tomerb on August 14, 2008 to Usability

when you switch between applications using CMD-Tab, it would be nice to have a small visual indication that the app you're switching to is minimized, so that you might be able to press the option key to maximize it. (Once you switched to it, it's already too late, because there's no key combination to maximize it.)
The small application icon in the tray is often too small to be understood, and it's mighty inconvenient to look there when tab-switching.

I'm not sure if I understand what you mean... Option key doesn't do anything while switching apps. Or does it? :)

It does. If you press Option while switching to a minimized app, it maximizes it :)

How about just maximizing the selected application?

Yeah, I think it would be easier if it just automatically maximized when you selected it - that is, in the case where the application has only one window, and that window is minimized.

Yes, the non-action on cmd+tabbing to a minimised app i've seen confuse people before, and I think more people expect to see the app once they landed on it with that feature. So a +1 here
