Macs in KVM environments fail to remember monitor resolution

Submitted by baliset on August 12, 2008 to Annoyance, Usability

We have 8 servers sharing a server cabinet. A KVM box enables each of these servers to share a common screen, keyboard and mouse. If a Mac is rebooted and is not selected as the "active" screen then it will default to a much lower resolution

This rates as an OS-X bug because the solution would be so simple: Place a checkbox in the Displays System Preference named "Force this resolution on reboot".
