Movie preview thumbnails not showing in Coverflow or Grid views

Submitted by davehutch on October 12, 2009 to Aesthetics, Annoyance, Icons, Usability

When opening o folder in Finder that contain movie files, they do not show as a thumbnail of the movie.
This happens with movies of the following types: qt, mov, avi, wmv, mp4, m4v, flv

With perian installed along with Flip4Mac there are several reports of this behaviour across the Internet.

Deleting Quicklook preference files and re-launching Finder does not help

Re-install Audio Hijack and update components. All solved after a log out - log in

I think this is an isolated problem, as all my movie files with Perian and Flip4Mac installed give me previews in all modes...

Not if you read the forums on the Apple website. Many people have this issue and it goes back to 10.5.8

I have this problem, am running 10.5.8, and amazingly have installed the odd assortment of software that is { Audio Hijack, Flip4Mac, Perian }.
So, the solution is to simply uninstall then reinstall Audio Hijack??
BTW, how does one uninstall A.H.?

I did it using App Cleaner. Open the app, drag A.H into it and App Cleaner finds all the associated files and deleted them
