New E-mail Window Starts in background

Whenever i'm in an application other than Mail and click on an e-mail link, a new message windows in Mail.app is openned but stays behind Mail's main window.
I don't know if that has to do with a Spaces problem but it happens all the time since Leopard 10.5 until now 10.5.7.

New message window should always come in the foreground.

I agree to this. By default it should be above, or they could just put an option to it in the preferences.
