Keynote: auto-size fonts in textfields

Submitted by mojo2012 on January 11, 2009 to Annoyance, Usability

I like Keynote because it is simple and easy to use ... sometimes to simple.
If you enter too much text into a textfield, some words just vanish beyond the textfield border. So you have to select all text and set a smaller font size. This is quite annoying.

Copy the powerpoint feature: if the text doesn't fit into the textfield, then it automatically gets smaller. If you are at the bottom of the textfield and then press return to make a new line/bullet point the whole text gets smaller and the new line fits into the textfield.

I always disliked that feature of PowerPoint (and still do, when I'm forced to use it).

If they added something like this, I sure hope it would be optional, like abitgone, I really dislike that feature of PowerPoint.

Of course should that be an option. I understand that some people don't like such a "feature" and vice versa.
