Spaces: overview only on primary screen

Submitted by mojo2012 on November 8, 2008 to Annoyance

On my dual screen setup I see the spaces overview only on my first screen. The second screen is black. This is a strange behaviour.

Show the spaces overview on each screen. Each screen should only show its own virtual desktops - not others

it seems that this would confuse the fact that the monitors are linked by implying that the spaces ate tracked separately on rack monitor. Would people get confused and think that they could switch to space 1 on the first monitor while being on space 3 on the second. Or something like that.

So the way it is now, if you have two monitors and in space 1 on monitor 1 you have mail, and in space 1 on monitor 2 you have quicktime... when you show the spaces overview you see... both mail and quicktime in space 1? If that's the way it is, it does seem weird. The spaces overview should show you what that space looks like, ie. what your screen would look like if you chose that space. But if you have two screens... the overview wouldn't be showing you what you would see on your screens if you were in that space. Maybe the overview could show on both, but with some way of indicating that there isn't an option to be in different spaces on different monitors.

Well, I think it makes sense the way it is now, but it is kinda weird to see everything on just one screen... Can't imagine it working other way, though...
