Safari: no fullscreen/kiosk mode

Submitted by mojo2012 on November 6, 2008 to Usability

Firefox for win (and maybe linux) has a function called fullscreen mode. This shows just the address bar, a few buttons and the content on the whole screen.
Sometimes that can be very useful.

Safari does not offer such a function (nor does mac firefox ...).

Implement a Safari fullscreen mode that only shows addressbar + toolbar, bookmark and tabbar. No apple menu, no dock, no desktop!

This looks quite interesting.

I found another interesting solution: Glims. That's an addon for safari. It adds a very good fullscreen feature (hide menubar and dock, resize to the maximum, so that no desktop or titlebar is visible) and extends the searchbox with different search engines.
