Safari: Implement OpenSearch engine support

Submitted by mojo2012 on November 2, 2008 to Annoyance, Usability

By default Safari just has one search engine: Google. This is annoying. I'm used to have wikipedia in the search box.
There is no option to change the search engine nor is there the possibility to have more than one search engine to choose.

At least let the user choose the search engine.

Better:
Implement the OpenSearch functionality (or some similar concept), eg, like firefox. So you could go to amazon, click a link and a new search engine is added to the list of available engines. Now it would be possible to choose one engine from Safari's seach box.
