Allow "Shift-Eject" or other key combination to be mapped as "Windows" delete key.

Submitted by hoopla_punta on November 1, 2008 to Annoyance, Usability

Is some instances, like when using Parallels and other web apps or X11 apps, the delete key of Windows cannot be mapped using a Mac Keyboard.

This is sometimes a hindrance (even when playing Impossible Quiz 2)...

Allow a key combination "shift delete" or "shift eject" to be mapped as a Delete Jey.

I would vote for a dedicated del-key --> delete character on the right side of the beam <> backspace key --> delete left character

My macbook pro has 2 return keys but no del (fn-backspace) key. So i used doublecommand to assign the forward delete function to the num return key. This should be a nice standard feature.

As mojo2012 states above: fn-backspace is already the same as the delete key. You can use it in Parallels just fine. I'm assuming you have a Mac portable, as Apple keyboards actually have a (forward-)delete key.
