Safari: Bookmark Management
In the "show all bookmarks" window/tab it is not possible to use the up/down keys to select bookmark entries or folders.
It seems to be a normal list though it doesn't support the keyboard movement ...
Make the bookmark list a real list --> key navigation.

If I press tab the focus goes to the toolbar. This does not allow me to navigate in the bookmark management overview (menu Bookmarks/Show all Bookmarks). Please mind: I don't talk about the bookmark menu nor the bookmark toolbar!
I know what you are talking about. Trust me. Bookmarks>Show All Bookmarks. One Tab brings focus to the Collections area on the left. You can use the arrow keys to select Bookmarks Bar, Bookmarks Menu, History, RSS, etc. One more Tab brings focus to the bookmarks themselves, after which you can use the arrow keys. Try it.
No this definitely doesn't work, at least for me ...
I see that the left sidebar gets selected, but if i press arrow up/down nothing changes.
I just hear the "drr" sound!
Does it work for you, if you just click into the lest (select a bookmark) and then press up/down?
Be sure to press Tab twice after using Show All Bookmarks. One press brings the Sidebar into focus, but you must press it again to use the arrow keys.
If I click an item in the sidebar, then press Tab once, I can then use the arrows.
Hmm, I don't know why this doesn't work for me. The focus is definitely in the list but the arrow keys up/down don't work. But right /left opens and closes folders!
Btw. This never worked for me. I'm using OSX since tiger 10.4.6.
I know it's exasperating for me to tell you I can get it working, but I am running out of ideas. Perhaps you have an older version of Safari. Are you running 3.1.2?
Yes of course. I'm up to date running leopard 10.5.5, safari 3.1.2.
I have some plugins installed: leech download manager, safari stand, and acidsearch (makes wikipedia the default search engine).
Finally I found the guilty one: it's the SIMBL plugin. This is needed to use acidsearch. I deactivated it and voilĂ , keyboard navigation works again.
As for me it is much more important to have different seach engines in safari, this is the way it will stay.

It is possible. Press Tab.
