Default Search in finder should be in CURRENT FOLDER not the whole computer
Normally when you search for files inside FINDER you look for files within a especific folder and that should be the default option. If you are looking for files on the whole computer you can always go directly to Spotlight.

Mac OS 10.3 still offers the functionality renatocoral seeks. This is one of the reasons why all my main production machines are still using 10.3. It is ridiculously easy to filter through folders with hundreds of files and just find the ones you want in less than a second.
For some unknown reason this useful time-saving functionality was removed in Tiger and Leopard. Adding insult to injury, Windows Vista now has this functionality! I can't believe Apple threw away a great feature from its OS only to have it picked up by MS. Makes you want to cry...
eieie Windows has it. and now more beautiful and flexible in windows 7.. haha
apple controling how you use their systems, figures
Fixed in Snow Leopard (http://www.apple.com/macosx/refinements/enhance...efinements.html#finder) - well, you'll get the option to at least.

Apple thinks that its spotlight is so good that it can search the entire system and give you what you want in 5 seconds. Blame them.
