Exposé & window shadow

Submitted by mojo2012 on September 27, 2008 to Aesthetics

If you use exposé the shadow around the window disappear suddenly while the windows get arranged. After choosing a window it flys back to it's normal position. Short after that the shadow suddenly re-appears. This looks quirky ...

Make the shadow fade away more softly when using exposé.

What kind of a system are you on? On my iMac (about a year old), the animation is so fast that I had to hold down the shift key to see it.

Couldn't reproduce this... the shadow seems to be there immediately after the window comes back into place. (MacBook Pro, 1.25 yrs old).

The immediately is the problem! It should fade in and out seamlessly.

I admin that this is a very minor cosmetic thing. But nonetheless it is there.

@ebaur: I don't need the shift key to see this ;-)

I don’t notice this when they zoom out, but I find it *very* noticable when they come back in; even more-so with Leopard’s comparitively enormous dropshadows. I do hope this gets fixed at some point.
