Dictionary on preview PDFs

Submitted by Ian on September 18, 2008 to Usability

Altough Dictionary keyboard shortcut (CMD + ctrl + D in my keyboard preferences) is designed for working with all cocoa applications (safari, pages...), It doesn't work with preview when using it for reading PDFs. I use preview a lot for reading scientific papers, so this feature is almost essential for me (and I suppose for many other people).

Option-alt? Those are the same key, aren't they? Do you mean Command-Option? The default is Command-Control-D, which doesn't work in Preview, I agree... I was just curious if you had changed it to something that conflicted with a command key sequence used in the app itself. As it turns out, I tried another combination and that one didn't work, either... weird.

Edited; sorry, it was Command + ctrl + D as you said. Of course, it still doesn't work.

Thank you for your correction.
