Auto mounting of network shares

Submitted by Hansii on September 1, 2008 to Usability

If you are connected to a network server/shared folder and you move to another network the OS keeps nagging you about it until you disconnect.

Warn the user once, then reconnect as soon as the connected share is available again if the user did not choose to disconnect completely.

Offtopic, perhaps, but I really liked the way that 10.4 auto-mounted Airport Disks - it would be quite nice to have this feature work for any file server on your network, but only as long as you've connected to it before (and haven't explicitly disconnected from it).

That sounds greate. The fact that finder aks again and again if the network share is not reachable ...
Btw. it would be greate to have an option - either in the "connect to server" dialog or in the "get info" - to reconnect at next startup/login.

I agree!
It`s annoying have to connect my server in the office every day...
