Yes, you can. JPEG image consists of many 8x8 blocks of pixels each described by a matrix of coeficients of DCT. Those matrices could be just transposed and saved, with no loss of information. Try google "lossless jpeg rotation".

OK, when your camera actually rotates a picture, then this is not your trouble.. My camera (and as far as I know all Canons and Olympuses) only does store the EXIF tag of camera orientation while shooting and it's up to software to do the thing.
