Finder: integrate SCP connections into "Connect to server"

Problem: This is a feature request!

It would be nice if the Finder would support ssh/scp connections fia the "connect to server dialog": eg ssh://myserver/share or scp://myserver/share

Solution: Implement ssh/scp protocol support for the "connect to server" dialog

Make software update notification discoverable when hidden beneath other windows

Problem: When "Software Update" notification (where you chose whether to install immediately or see the list of updated applications) pops up, it is a dialog-style window.

Solution: Current solutio is: minimize, close or hide all windows until you get to the Software Update confirmation box

Finder: Folders first please! (folders on top)

Problem: When I open Finder and try to find some file I have to scroll all the page down to see the folders. And this is so anoying, because I have to scroll down a hundred times to find something.

Solution: Folders should be first "type of file", and be always the first to appear in each drive, folder or subfolder on Finder and on Open / Save dialogs of all Apps.

Stacks should update changes such as renaming and custom icons

Problem: When making changes such as renaming files, or customizing icons, they are not updated on a stack. For example, when renaming a file, if the stack is sorted by name, it doesn't re-arrange by the new naming. Also when customizing icons within a folder, (more...)

Preview - Next/Previous active for single item

Problem: If you have a single item open in preview the next/previous buttons are still active and clickable. This is counter-intuitive because it hints that there are next and previous items.

[1] Single item - both buttons greyed out
[2] First item - previous button greyed out
[3] Last item - next button greyed out

Finder's back button overrides folder settings

Problem: When using the Finder's back button, it overrides folder settings. That often results in inadequate views for your folders. For example, cover flow is inadequate for a folder that contains generic folders.

Autorotate in iPhoto should be lossless (and don't preserve original)

Problem: iPhoto automatically rotates imported photos using camera orientation in EXIF, if available.

Copy file path location

Problem: Unfortunatly you can not copy the path to a file or folder. This feature is availiable through tools like win shortcutter but it should be built into the system and should support forward and backslashes for mixed enviroments.

QuickLook: Sound volume of QuickLook not adjustable and too loud by default

Problem: When i QuickLook audio/videofiles the volume is too loud (like playing with 100% volume in iTunes), the same behavior was also in Finder file preview of Tiger, but there was a volume slider. In QuickLook/Leopard there is only an option to mute the sound. (more...)

Allow iTunes to do on-the-fly transcoding during syncs.

Problem: This applies primarily to those with a large library of lossless (ALAC) music.

As it is Apple provides to easy way for users to automatically transcode these files to a more reasonable format for portable (iPod, iPhone) use.

Bluetooth File Exchange application is terrible

Cannot set default window size for Finder windows, for ALL folders.

Problem: Lets say you have set your home folder window to your preferred size. But then you open your downloads folder, but it is of different size! Do you need to go and resize all the windows that you usually open directly to?

Finder: more columns for detail list view

Problem: Why can Finder just show 7 different file infos in the detailed list view?
What if I want to show mp3 tags in the columns?

Solution: Let the user choose of much more file infos in detailed list view:
* mp3 tags (interpret, album title, ...)
* jpeg image infos (width, color depth, ...)
* owner infos, unix acls, ...

Folders mixed with files in the Finder
